Abby Merritt

Service Coordinator

Hello! My name is Abby Merritt, and I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lander University. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals with special needs and have dedicated my career to making a meaningful difference in their lives. For more than a decade, I have worked with individuals with disabilities and developmental delays, gaining experience in a variety of roles. My journey has included serving as a Case Manager with the Autism Society, as well as holding several leadership and support positions with OIDD, including Direct Support Professional, Program Coordinator, Quality Assurance Director, and Residential Director.

For the past three years, I have been proud to be part of the Building Dreams Early Intervention team powered by Pathwise. I began my journey as a Family Trainer and have since grown into my current roles as a Service Coordinator and Supervisor. In these positions, I have the privilege of walking alongside families and individuals as they navigate and celebrate each step of their developmental journey.

Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending time with my husband, Jamie, and our children, Bella and Mason. Our family also includes two beloved cats, Pumpkin & Eevee, who bring us lots of joy. In my free time, I enjoy going for walks outdoors, connecting with friends, and getting lost in a good book. When it comes to engaging with children, I especially love using sensory books and hands-on, creative activities like Play-Doh to make learning fun and meaningful.

Sarah Davenport

Early Interventionist

Hi! My name is Sarah Davenport, and I am a member of the Early Intervention team with Building Dreams. I graduated from Lander University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I have experience working one-on-one with children of all ages, including serving as an ABA therapist for a year during my undergraduate studies. I also completed internships during college where I worked inside classrooms supporting children in educational settings. Additionally, I gained early experience in a daycare setting through an internship I completed in high school.

In addition to my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three beautiful children, as well as our three dogs. I am passionate about supporting children and their families and look forward to helping your child grow, achieve their goals, and become their best self each day.

Sharon Suber

Early Interventionist

My name is Sharon Suber, I am a dedicated education professional with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree and nearly two decades of experience working with students and families. Over the past 18 years, I have developed a strong passion for supporting learners from diverse backgrounds, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. My experience has allowed me to build strong meaningful relationships with students while adapting to their unique needs and learning styles. I take pride in creating positive, engaging environments where students feel encouraged to succeed and reach their full potential. My commitment to education reflects both my patience and my belief in the lasting impact of guidance, mentorship, and continuous learning.

One of my favorite activities is working one-on-one with a child in an early intervention setting. I enjoy creating engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences that support each child’s growth in communication, motor skills, and social interaction. Through play-based learning, I can build trust and connect with the child while encouraging progress in a natural and supportive way. Seeing a child reach new milestones, gain confidence, and develop independence is incredibly rewarding and reinforces my passion for early childhood education.
